My Life in Meals and Miles

Passion Turned Into Profession…
Hi, I’m Oz Ilan—a food lover, storyteller, and world traveler on a mission to explore the world one meal at a time.
This blog is where I document my journey through diverse landscapes and rich cultures, with food as my compass.
From bustling markets and humble street stalls to remote villages where recipes are passed down through generations, I’m here to share the flavors, traditions, and stories that make each place unique.
I have been eating and cooking around the world for almost 6 years.
I’ve cooked wild greens in the Vietnamese highlands, tasted freshly harvested coffee in southern Laos, and shared home-cooked meals with locals in places far from the tourist map. For me, travel is most meaningful when it’s rooted in genuine connection—especially when that connection is made over a shared dish.
I speak English, Hebrew, Spanish, and have advanced Thai and Lao, which allows me to dive deeper into local life and learn directly from the people who carry their culinary traditions with pride.
If you’re someone who loves slow travel, cultural immersion, and discovering the world through food, you’re in the right place. Join me as I taste the journey, one story—and one bite—at a time.
